Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) proudly announces that one of its international nursing students, Zalfa Dhiya Azizah, has been awarded the prestigious Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) Co-Funding 2024. This award will enable Zalfa Dhiya Azizah to study at Hanyang University in South Korea for the upcoming academic year for one semester.

IISMA, an initiative by the Indonesian Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, aims to provide Indonesian students with the opportunity to gain international academic and cultural experiences. The selection process is highly competitive, involving rigorous academic and extracurricular evaluations.

Mrs. Siti Arifah, International Secretary of Nursing Program, expressed his pride and excitement for this achievement. “We are incredibly proud of Zalfa for securing this highly competitive award. It is a testament to the quality of education and the dedication of our students and faculty. This opportunity will not only enhance Zalfa’s academic journey but also contribute to the global perspective that UMS strives to instill in all its students.”

Zalfa, a student in the nursing program at UMS, will join a diverse cohort of international students at Hanyang University, known for its excellence in nursing and medical education. The program will include advanced coursework, clinical practice, and cultural exchange activities designed to broaden their professional and personal horizons.

“I am honored and thrilled to receive the IISMA Co-Funding Award and the chance to study at Hanyang University,” said Zalfa. “This experience will allow me to deepen my nursing knowledge, learn new healthcare practices, and build international connections that will be invaluable in my future career. I am grateful for the support from my professors and the university.”

The Head of Nursing Program, Dr. Arif Widodo, emphasised the significance of such international experiences for students. “Studying abroad provides our students with unique insights and skills that are crucial in today’s global healthcare environment. We are committed to supporting our students in accessing these valuable opportunities and bringing back knowledge that can improve healthcare practices in Indonesia.”

The IISMA Co-Funding 2024 award to Zalfa highlights UMS’s dedication to fostering international collaboration and enhancing the academic and professional development of its students. This achievement aligns with UMS’s mission to produce graduates who are not only competent and professional but also globally minded and culturally aware.
